WEEK 9: A Concrete Idea
Hi Everyone,
This week brings us more of the same as it appears the foundation slab is not going anywhere soon. As seems to be a recurring theme each week, nothing moves to the next phase until multiple inspections take place by the builder and city inspectors.
I was told that we should start to see lumber for the framing being delivered by the end of this week if the stars and planets align perfectly. Went by this afternoon - no lumber.
This week we also did the 'final, final' on the front and rear landscape, hardscape, and pool design. We also did a final upgrade to the audio and video setup, and the security systems in the house. We decided to add some interesting gadgets that will automate a number of functions in the house.
This is a shot of the front entry walkway (from the street) that will be cobblestone and should sport a bubbling fountain once we locate the right one. People here seem to like to congregate in their front entries for some reason.
This view will eventually become the master bedroom, bath, laundry and one of the guest rooms. A bit hard to imagine just looking at concrete. Haven't figured out what the indentation is for yet.
Front guest room to our back fence line. Again, tiny compared to Texas, but that is what 'lock and leave' is all about.
That's it for this week. Hope you liked all of the concrete pics 😁! Hopefully soon we'll have something more interesting to show you.
